Media is subject to bumps, drops, extreme temperatures, moisture and static during transport, and you need purpose-built transport cases from vendors like XpressPax or Turtle to protect your media. Tape media storage is equally important, and media should preferably be stored in a fireproof and waterproof safe designed for tape media storage. Safes for LTO tapes are specifically designed and engineered so that the temperature will not exceed operating limits in the event of a fire.
